Kenneth Armstrong, our Broker, was first licensed as a sales person by the California Department of Real Estate in the 1970's, listing and selling properties primarily in the Long Beach and Seal Beach areas of Southern California. Thereafter, he undertook a position as General Manager of the International Towers, a round, 35 storey, residential and commercial "high-rise" on the beach in Long Beach.
This was the tallest structure in southern California until the advent of the high rises of Century City.
The Long Beach Grand Prix circled the building and it was filmed from its roof. In addition to managing the building and its large staff of employees, Ken was responsible for
negotiating and drafting the complex leases for the residential and commercial tenants, which included the State of California, doctors, dentists, attorneys, and major corporations.
Later, Ken became a real estate appraiser, owning his own real estate appraisal business in So. Cal. During this time, he performed a wide variety of residential and commercial appraisals for large companies, major banks and savings and loan institutions and the Veteran's Administration. Ken was a member of professional appraisal organizations and taught appraisal techniques to others.
Ken attended law school at the Pacific Coast University School of Law, one of the oldest private law schools in California. It was in existence before the State Bar was established. Ken excelled in law school studies and increased his knowledge of the legal side of real estate transactions. He received the national Corpus Juris Secundum award for outstanding legal scholarship and graduated valedictorian (#1) of his law school class.
Ken practiced real estate law at a law firm in Orange County, CA which handled real estate matters exclusively. Once having opened his own firm, Ken concentrated on real estate matters and continues to do so to this day.
Even though now located in Mount Shasta, California, the Armstrong Brokerage and the Armstrong Law Offices continue to receive calls from throughout the State. The Armstrong Law office handles the legal side of real estate matters, including leases, contracts and real estate disputes for a variety of clientele, while the Armstrong Brokerage handles the listing and sales of real estate properties. The Armstrongs have worked and resided in Siskiyou County for over 17 years.
